Artwork: Perspicere, *Through Young Eyes*, Bouville, France, 2026

British artist Perspicere (@perspicereartist) makes art for the street and galleries, creating images from thousands of threads. In June this year he participated in the Inspire Festival in the rural community of Bouville, Normandy, France, creating a work titled, Through Young Eyes. The piece measures 10 metres wide by 3 metres high, and is created entirely from sewing thread stretched between hundreds of anchor points. Featuring the image of the eyes of a child, the curators of the festival wrote this about the artwork:

“Inspired by its location near a school, the work invites viewers to reconnect with a sense of wonder and to see familiar surroundings from a fresh perspective. From a distance, the image appears almost photographic. Up close, it dissolves into a complex network of intersecting threads, where each individual line contributes to tone, depth, and detail. The artwork shifts depending on how it is viewed. As you step back, clarity emerges. Through a camera lens, the image often appears even sharper, as the overlapping threads blend into a cohesive whole. Made from approximately 11,000 individual lines, stretching an estimated 55 kilometres in total, this piece explores the relationship between complexity and perception. What first appears chaotic gradually becomes something deeply human and recognisable. Balancing art, precision, and innovation, the work sits between drawing, sculpture, and installation — transforming a simple material into a powerful visual experience.”
